Job Overview

- Inspect, service, and repair mining equipment at customer sites
- Diagnose faults and replace or adjust defective parts and systems
- Test equipment to ensure peak performance
- Use micrometers and precision tools to measure tight tolerances
- Maintain a safe, clean work environment
- Work independently and collaborate with other mechanics and apprentices in both shop and field settings
- Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic Certification (Red Seal preferred)
- 3–5 years of experience in mining or construction
- Strong troubleshooting and repair skills across mechanical systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and warranty specs
- Experience in customer-facing roles and a solid understanding of relationship-building
- No restriction accessing any customer mine sites and a valid Alberta driver’s license
- Comfortable working solo in remote field conditions and open mine environments
- Detail-oriented, organized, and deadline-driven
- Committed to safety, quality, and teamwork
- Experience with Joy Global equipment is a bonus
Reports to:
General Supervisor, Field Services
Shift: 7x7, 12‑hour shifts, rotation of days and nights
Travel: up to 25% within Canada
Relocation: not offered
Safety sensitive: drug & alcohol testing, physical demand fit testing, RCMP criminal record check and submission of a 5‑year provincial driving record required
