Position Overview
Join the Finning Canada family, part of the world’s largest Caterpillar dealer. We are currently recruiting a Labourer to join the team at our Mildred Lake shop facility. As a labourer, you will support efficient shop operations by performing low‑complexity tasks contributing directly to workplace organization, safety, and process flow in alignment with Finning Opx standards.

- Assist with simple mechanical tasks such as guard removal/installation and tool retrieval
- Organise and stage parts to ensure technicians have what they need, when they need it
- Move used parts and materials in and out of the shop to maintain smooth workflow
- Prepare and clean work areas to minimise waste and waiting time
- Safely operate floor sweepers, forklifts, and skid steers
- Wash and clean equipment and service trucks
- Move equipment in and out of bays to maintain schedule adherence
- Perform daily 5S activities:
- Sort: remove unnecessary items
- Set in order: organise tools and work areas
- Shine: clean equipment, floors, and bays
- Standardise: follow established work procedures
- Sustain: maintain and improve workplace standards
- Participate in kaizen – identify and communicate opportunities to reduce waste and improve flow
- Support safe, consistent, and standardised shop operations
- General cleaning of shop, yard, tools, and equipment
- Assist with garbage removal, material handling, and small tasks that support team efficiency
- Uphold a safe working environment at all times
- High school diploma (Grade 12)
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn standardised work
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively
- Strong sense of organisation, cleanliness, and safety
- Experience with shop equipment is an asset; training provided
- This position is based in Mildred Lake on a 14x14 shift (days and nights may be required)
- Hours and shift schedule may be subject to change to meet customer and/or Finning (Canada) requirements. Shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the current collective agreement
- Physical requirement: ability to lift/move up to 40 lbs
- Valid driver’s licence with a recent successful driver abstract; for safety reasons the minimum age is 21
Union membership is required for this position. It will become effective immediately and will result in union dues being deducted from your pay. The terms and conditions of your employment will be governed by the collective agreement.
