Excavator Operator

Overview

GFL Environmental is looking for an Excavator
Operator to join our team in Mildred Lake just north of Fort McMurray, AB . The ideal candidate will have the ability to operate various excavators and other necessary machinery to deblock, load, and move sulfur material efficiently.

• Operate excavators and other heavy equipment to deblock, load, and move sulfur material efficiently.
• Steer, guide, and/or drive assigned equipment using controls such as steering wheels, shifters, levers, buttons, and pedals.
• Communicate effectively via two-way radio with co-workers in the field and office regarding work activities and daily priorities.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, provincial, and local laws, as well as company policies and safety regulations.

• Proven ability to operate various excavators and other equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ability to obtain Transfer Station/Landfill Operations Certification if required.
• Proven ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle multiple variables in a standardized setting.
• Ability to read and understand equipment gauges and perform basic mathematical functions.
• Physical capability to frequently lift/push/pull up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Class 3 License with Air Brakes Endorsement is an asset.
