Heavy Duty Mechanic at Remote Site

NACG seeks an experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic for our remote site near Fort McMurray. Enjoy a competitive rate of up to $135/hour in this well-established mining role.

This position requires expertise as a Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic, focusing on the maintenance and repair of large haul trucks and equipment. With a strong foundation in diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, you will work collaboratively with maintenance teams while mentoring apprentices for professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Repair CAT, Komatsu, and Hitachi heavy equipment

• Carry out preventative maintenance checks

• Troubleshoot and evaluate equipment performance

• Lead testing of repaired equipment for quality compliance

• Plan and order necessary repair parts

Requirements:

• Alberta Journeyperson Equipment Technician certification required

• At least 2 years of relevant mechanical experience

• Proficient in diagnosing equipment issues

• Must be self-directed and work independently

• Experience in safety-sensitive roles is beneficial
