Job Overview

Reports to: General Supervisor, Field Services
Shift: 7x7, 12h shifts, rotation of days and nights
Allowances: Additional premiums and allowances are associated with this position due to location
Safety Sensitive: Yes—drug & alcohol testing, physical demand fit testing, RCMP criminal record check and submission of 5-year provincial driving record will be required
Travel: up to 25% travel within Canada
Relocation: This position does not offer relocation

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Inspect, service, and repair mining equipment at customer sites
  • Diagnose faults and replace or adjust defective parts and systems
  • Testing equipment to ensure peak performance
  • Use micrometers and precision tools to measure tight tolerances
  • Maintain a safe, clean work environment
  • Work independently and collaborate with other mechanics and apprentices in both shop and field settings
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic Certification (Red Seal preferred)
  • 3–5 years of experience in mining or construction
  • Strong troubleshooting and repair skills across mechanical systems

    Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and warranty specs
  • Experience in customer-facing roles and a solid understanding of relationship-building
  • No restriction accessing any customer mine sites and a valid Alberta driver’s license
  • Comfortable working solo in remote field conditions and open mine environments
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and deadline-driven
  • Committed to safety, quality, and teamwork
  • Experience with Joy Global equipment is a bonus
