  • Schedule: Pre-work is 4 days on, 3 days off. Turnaround is straight through.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise labour crews while maintaining a hands-on presence in the field.
  • Coordinate daily work assignments and ensure manpower is effectively utilized.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between labour crews and site supervision.
  • Support trades working in confined spaces and oversee confined space watch activities.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with client, site, and Stuart Olson safety requirements.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and hazard assessments.
  • Monitor crew productivity and work quality to ensure project schedules and objectives are achieved.
  • Coordinate material handling activities, including loading, unloading, and moving materials to work areas.
  • Oversee housekeeping standards and maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas.
  • Assist with general mechanical tasks in support of turnaround operations.
  • Coordinate valve operations and other labour-related activities as required.
  • Mentor and support crew members while promoting teamwork and accountability.
  • Ensure all incidents, near misses, and safety concerns are reported promptly.
  • Participate in the development and review of safe work practices and procedures.
  • Perform other supervisory and labour duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

  • Working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Working at heights.
  • Working in and around noise, dust, and industrial hazards.
  • Must be clean shaven to meet site respiratory protection requirements.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) required, including steel-toed boots, safety glasses, hard hat, and additional site-specific PPE.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience leading labour crews within industrial, maintenance, construction, or turnaround environments.
  • Valid Driver s License.
  • H2S Awareness (Energy Safety Canada).
  • CSTS 20.
  • Confined Space Entry Monitor (Energy Safety Canada).
  • Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP/EWP).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively coordinate crews and prioritize daily work activities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and safe work practices.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with supervisors, tradespeople, and peers.
  • Successful completion of pre-access Drug and Alcohol Testing.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to crouch, kneel, climb stairs, and climb ladders regularly.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 kg.
  • Exposure to heights, power tools, slips, trips, falls, falling objects, and other industrial hazards.
  • Ability to work while wearing a full-face respirator when required for confined space activities.
