Suncor is seeking Heavy Equipment Operators to join their team at the Base Plant Mine in Fort McMurray. Operators will play a vital role in oil sands mining operations, focusing on the safe and efficient operation of ultra class haul trucks. • At least 2 years experience operating equipment (haul trucks, wiggle wagon, dozers, graders, excavators) in mining, civil earthworks, pipelines, sawmills, pulp and paper mills, manufacturing, or highway construction
• High School Diploma, GED, CAEC, or 10+ years of work experience
• Valid driver’s licence and clean driving record
• Ability to work a 6 days on/6 days off rotation (three days on, three nights on, six days off; 12-hour shifts)
• Ability to complete walk-arounds, safety checks, and field level risk assessments
• Commitment to safety and following operating standards and procedures
• Ability to report incidents, damage, and near misses immediately
• Strong communication skills to update supervisors and meet goals
