Heavy Equipment Operator

Join Ledcor as an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator on a road building project in Fort McMurray, Alberta. Operate excavators, dozers, and other machinery while adhering to safety protocols to ensure quality work.

The Equipment Operator role requires at least three years of experience in operating dozers and excavators, along with a background in road building or reclamation work. You will engage in excavation, grading, and material handling, while collaborating with your team to meet production goals. GPS machine control experience is preferred, and candidates must be prepared for day or night shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate Excavators (20-80 ton) and Dozers (D6-D10)

• Conduct grading, loading, and earthmoving operations

• Set up dumps for efficient cycle times

• Perform pre-trip inspections and hazard assessments

• Collaborate with crew to achieve production targets

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years’ equipment operation experience

• Experience in road building or mining projects

• Valid driver’s license and Ground Disturbance Level 2

• Completion of pre-access drug testing

• CSTS 09 or Common Safety Orientation certification
