Overview

Radium North Inc. is currently seeking a skilled and dependable Carpenter/Skilled Labourer to join our team in Fort McMurray, Alberta. This role involves working on a range of residential, industrial and commercial construction projects, including new builds, renovations, and maintenance work in a fast-paced and safety-driven environment.

The ideal candidate is a motivated team player with strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship. You will play a key role in constructing, installing, and repairing structures while ensuring all work meets company standards and applicable building codes.

Duties
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and install wood and other construction materials
  • Construct and install building frameworks including walls, floors, and roofs
  • Perform finishing carpentry work such as trim, doors, cabinetry, and moldings
  • Complete renovations, repairs, and general maintenance of existing structures
  • Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently
  • Ensure all work is completed according to building codes, safety standards, and company expectations
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors, crew members, and other trades
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work site
  • Identify construction issues and propose practical solutions
  • Follow all site safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE
  • Assist with material handling, loading/unloading, and general site preparation as required
Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Carpenter (residential, industrial and/or commercial)
  • Journeyman Carpenter certification considered an asset
  • Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Valid safety certifications (e.g., CSTS, WHMIS) are an asset
  • Physically fit and able to lift heavy materials and work in various conditions
  • Strong work ethic with attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable transportation (site-dependent)
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
