As a Building Technician with JLL, you will be the cornerstone of our service delivery for a key industrial client in Fort McMurray. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will take ownership of the building’s operational health, blending hands‑on technical expertise with critical coordination duties. This role is vital for ensuring a safe, efficient, and world‑class environment that allows our client's business to thrive.

- Perform hands‑on maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Manage and execute the site’s Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) schedule for all critical equipment and assets.
- Respond to, troubleshoot, and resolve incoming service requests via the CMMS ticketing system within defined service levels.
- Coordinate and oversee the work of third‑party vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance and project work.
- Conduct regular site inspections and champion health & safety protocols, ensuring a secure and compliant environment.
- Manage inventory of essential spare parts, tools, and supplies, and raise purchase orders as needed.
- Assist with small‑scale site projects, office moves, and facility improvements from planning to completion.
- 3-5 years of direct experience in building maintenance, with strong skills in HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- A technical diploma or degree in a related discipline (e.g., Building Systems, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Technology).
- Demonstrated proficiency using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- In‑depth knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills, with a high degree of attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a customer‑centric approach.
- Physical capacity to perform manual tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and working at heights.
- Experience working within a high‑profile corporate or client‑facing facility.
- Previous experience directly overseeing the work of third‑party vendors.
- Experience with budget tracking and the procurement process, including raising purchase orders.
- Proven ability to assist in the coordination of small projects or office reconfigurations.
- Specific trade certifications (e.g., Journeyman, Systems Maintenance Technician/Administrator).
- Experience deputizing or providing cover for a facility manager or team lead.
