Certified Heavy Equipment Technician

Join BFI as a Certified Heavy Equipment Technician at the Mildred Lake Shop in Fort McMurray. Bring your expertise in diagnosing and repairing Komatsu, Cat, and John Deere equipment.

This position requires a skilled professional with 3-5 years of HET experience. You will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment systems, completing scheduled maintenance, and ensuring high-quality workmanship. Candidates must be proficient in both verbal and written English and are expected to comply with all health and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems

• Perform scheduled maintenance including oil changes and lubrications

• Maintain high standards of workmanship for customer satisfaction

• Work collaboratively with team members and assist apprentices

• Follow all health, safety, environmental, and HR procedures

Requirements:

• 3–5 years’ experience as a journeyperson HET

• Experience with Komatsu, Cat, and John Deere equipment

• Valid Class 5 Driver's License and clean driver’s abstract

• Completion of safety certifications required

• Proficient in English, verbally and in writing
