CRS is seeking a Solutions Architect/standardization and NATO liaison who will play a key role. This position is ideal for a Gov Con professional.

Position Overview:

Competitive Range Solutions is seeking a Mid-Level SATCOM Solutions Architect – SATCOM Standardization & NATO Liaison to provide engineering expertise and international coordination in support of interoperable satellite communications across the DoD SATCOM enterprise. This role focuses on evaluating and integrating international and coalition partner requirements—particularly NATO—into U.S. SATCOM capabilities.

Mid-level personnel in this category apply specialized knowledge to complex assignments, exercise originality in developing solutions, and operate with significant autonomy. The position may include supervisory responsibilities and requires the ability to represent U.S. SATCOM interests in multinational technical forums.

Key Responsibilities:

Interoperability & Standards Engineering

  • Provide engineering support to assess interoperability between U.S., NATO, and coalition partner SATCOM systems.
  • Analyze international and coalition communications requirements and determine their impacts on the DoD SATCOM enterprise.
  • Support the development and refinement of SATCOM standards, architectures, and technical frameworks that enable multinational interoperability.

International & NATO Liaison Activities

  • Support efforts to integrate international and coalition partners into U.S. SATCOM capabilities.
  • Participate in meetings, working groups, and technical exchanges with NATO organizations and partner nations.
  • Represent U.S. SATCOM technical positions and ensure alignment with coalition interoperability objectives.

Technical Documentation & Communication

  • Develop technical briefings, whitepapers, and engineering analyses related to interoperable SATCOM capabilities.
  • Prepare documentation that communicates complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, including U.S. government stakeholders and international partners.
  • Contribute to policy, standards, and architecture discussions that shape future multinational SATCOM integration.

Engineering Support & Innovation

  • Apply engineering expertise to broad, complex assignments requiring innovative approaches and independent judgment.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior personnel as needed.
  • Support the development of methodologies, processes, and solutions that enhance coalition SATCOM integration and operational effectiveness.
Qualifications/

Experience:

  • 3–7 years of experience in SATCOM engineering, systems architecture, international communications, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of DoD SATCOM systems, architectures, and operational frameworks.
  • Experience with interoperability engineering, standards development, or multinational communications integration.
  • Ability to work independently with appreciable latitude in developing solutions and methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills, including experience preparing technical briefings or whitepapers.
  • Ability to engage effectively with international partners, including NATO organizations.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must have a valid US Passport.
  • Government issued Top Secret clearance required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting NATO SATCOM initiatives, multinational working groups, or coalition interoperability programs.
  • Familiarity with protected, wideband, and narrow band SATCOM systems.
  • Background in standards bodies, architecture development, or international technical coordination.
  • Relevant certifications such as Security+, CCNA, or SATCOM OEM training.
  • Prior military SATCOM or DoD communications experience.
