Qualifications:
Six (6) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required. Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Physics from an accredited college or university is required. In lieu of a Master's degree, an additional two years of experience (8 years total) in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity along with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Physics from an accredited college or university may be substituted.
In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional four years of experience (10 years total) in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity along with an Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Physics from an accredited college or university may be substituted.
Job Description:
Provides technical expertise in the mechanical/thermal aspects of electronics integration and prototyping for a small team. Specialized knowledge and experience in solid model development and thermal analysis is required. Guide a small team in machining, construction (metal, wood, plastic, etc.) and prototyping various electronics packaging designs and electronic system modifications. Hands-on experience supporting "design-bench-deploy" is essential. Capabilities:
Document, model, and design mechanical systems Assist with design of complex and compact electronic packaging Assist with the design of electronic chassis, chassis components, and electro-mechanical systems and components including 3D printing Perform electronic and mechanical fabrication and assembly Lead mechanical design teams in electronic and mechanical fabrication and assembly Perform thermal analysis to account for thermal mitigation Perform materials analysis and testing for manufacturability, reliability, and performance
