Position: Systems Engineer Level 6, JIRA, Release Support
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in one or more ISO/IEC 15288 process areas
  • Analyze business, engineering, and program processes to identify inefficiencies, gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities
  • Develop and recommend improved processes, workflows, procedures, and operating practices
  • Apply Agile, SAFe, Lean Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies to enterprise and program-level challenges
  • Facilitate workshops, working sessions, retrospectives, process reviews, and improvement activities with stakeholders at multiple organizational levels
  • Support teams in implementing and maturing Agile and SAFe practices
  • Develop process maps, workflows, metrics, dashboards, and process-management artifacts
  • Use JIRA and Confluence for workflow management, issue tracking, process documentation, reporting, and collaboration
  • Assess organizational and process performance using quantitative and qualitative measures
  • Identify root causes of performance issues and recommend corrective or preventive actions
  • Develop and deliver work products associated with ISO/IEC 15288 Enterprise, Project, and Technical Process Areas
  • Support development and implementation of engineering standards and processes
  • Plan and support engineering and process-improvement initiatives with complex or enterprise-level impacts
  • Independently resolve significant process and engineering issues requiring advanced judgment and analysis
  • Brief stakeholders and senior leaders on process performance, risks, recommendations, and implementation status
  • Collaborate with systems engineers, program teams, technical personnel, and customer stakeholders to align improvements with operational and mission objectives
  • Support organizational change and adoption activities for new or revised processes
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, guidance, training materials, and supporting artifacts
  • Mentor and coach teams and individuals on process-improvement practices and disciplined execution
Requirements
  • U.S. Citizen
  • Active TS/SCI Security Clearance with a Polygraph
  • One of the following:
    Bachelor’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or related discipline plus 20 years of systems engineering experience;
    High School Diploma or GED plus 24 years of general systems engineering experience in any Process Area;
    Master’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or related discipline plus 18 years of systems engineering experience; or PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field or related discipline plus 18 years of systems engineering experience
  • Subject Matter Expert in one or more ISO/IEC 15288 Process Areas
  • Experience approving delivery of work products across ISO/IEC 15288 Process Areas
  • Experience planning and developing engineering projects with unique or complex aspects impacting major enterprise capabilities
  • Ability to independently resolve important engineering issues using advanced technology or methodology
  • Systems engineering experience throughout the system lifecycle:
    Concept, Development, Production, Utilization, Support, and Retirement
  • Ability to work across Technical, Project, Enterprise, and Agreement Process Areas associated with ISO/IEC 15288
  • Effective communication with program personnel, government stakeholders, senior executives, and technical teams
  • Responsibility for technical integrity, quality, and completeness of assigned work products and deliverables
  • Experience leading or supporting enterprise process improvement initiatives
  • Strong experience with Agile and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) practices
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma or comparable process-improvement methodologies
  • Experience assessing, documenting, redesigning, and implementing business or engineering processes
