Summary
This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Supervision/ Management Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure.
It is located in the Cyberspace Resilience Evaluation Directorate (CRED) J10, DoD Cyber Defense Command (DCDC).
- Serves as the Deputy Division Chief for the Terrain Assessments Division, J10-3; coordinates operations for the division, managing the given priorities for the division to enable DCDC Vulnerability Assessments.
- Serves on senior-level panels, working groups, and committees to plan, coordinate, and recommend planning, strategy, and joint capability requirement direction consisting of far-reaching scope and significance to national interest.
- Prepares and delivers white papers, action reports, briefings, and presentations regarding long-term planning, strategy, and joint capability requirements for Defense Cyber Operation Internal Defense Measures (DCO-IDM) and DoDIN Operations.
- Oversees the development, evaluation, and implementation of security products, procedures, and requirements to ensure compliance with DoD Information Assurance policies.
- Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) in conducting detailed analysis in a broad range of technical areas and provides detailed recommendations.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
- This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
- In accordance with the DoD 8140 policy series, the position is subject to completing Foundational Qualifications in 9 months and completing Residential Qualification requirements overall in 12 months.
- This is a drug tested position.
- This is a Term Appointment position Not to Exceed two (2) years. A CES term employee may be eligible for noncompetitive conversion to a permanent CES appointment at a later date should a position become available.

- Oral Communication – briefing senior-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems, projects, or daily operations, including the communication of complex technical information to a non-technical audience.
- Problem Solving – identifying alternatives to address unique, highly complex, or sensitive information technology-related issues. I have anticipated information technology-related problems and have identified and evaluated potential sources of information to generate alternative solutions.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement, applicants must possess qualifying experience.
