System Administrator - TS​/SCI in MD

CNF Technologies is seeking a System Administrator to support installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining server configurations to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability. This work includes managing accounts, firewalls, patches, access control, passwords, account creation/administration, overseeing backups/recovery, and implementing operational and technical security controls while adhering to organizational security policies in a classified environment.

• Demonstrated experience in systems administration, including installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware, software, and operating systems (Windows and/or Linux environments preferred).
• Experience with cloud-based services and classified enclave support.
• Hands‑on experience troubleshooting and resolving system/server issues, performance problems, and failures.
• Familiarity with computer networking concepts, protocols, and server administration in secure/controlled environments.
• Experience conducting system maintenance, backups, recovery, and capacity/performance monitoring.

• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain hardware, software, and system accounts to support operational requirements.
• Manage system/server resources including performance, capacity, availability, and serviceability.
• Administer user accounts, access controls, firewalls, patches, and security configurations.
• Perform periodic system maintenance (physical and electronic cleaning), implement security controls, and ensure compliance with DoD security policies.
• Oversee backup and recovery operations, recover failed systems/servers, and support continuity of operations.

• Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.
• Full‑time on‑site work in classified facility.
• Must comply with DoDM 8140.03 requirements for DCWF Work Role 451 (System Administrator), including obtaining and maintaining required foundational, residential, and continuous professional development qualifications/certifications at the appropriate proficiency level.
• Proficiency in cloud security (zero trust, CUI handling), architecture tools, and DoD policies.

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field from accredited institution.
• Preferred:
  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant systems administration experience in DoD or government environments (additional years may substitute for formal education).
• Must meet DoDM 8140.03 and DCWF 451 qualification standards upon entry or within established timelines (e.g., foundational certifications such as Security+ or DoD‑approved training for Basic/Intermediate proficiency; advanced certifications preferred).
