Responsibilities- Conduct user research:
Perform interviews, surveys, and usability testing to understand user needs and pain points. - Create design deliverables:
Develop user stories and personas, journey maps, wireframes, site maps, and high‑fidelity, clickable prototypes. - Design and iterate:
Create intuitive and visually appealing interfaces for digital products and iterate on designs based on user feedback and analytics. - Collaborate with teams:
Partner with product managers, UI designers, developers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into user‑centered solutions. - Advocate for UX:
Champion user‑centered design principles and best practices throughout the organization. - Ensure accessibility:
Integrate accessibility standards into the design process and conduct accessibility compliance assessments. - Present findings:
Communicate research findings and design concepts clearly to stakeholders through presentations and reports. - Hand off to development:
Prepare and hand off design assets and specifications to the development team for implementation.
Skills and Qualifications
- 14 years of related experience.
- 5 years of experience supporting the mission; an additional 6 years can be substituted with a Bachelor’s degree; 4 years can be substituted with an Associate’s degree. A Bachelor’s Degree and 5 additional years may substitute for a Master’s degree.
- Proven UX/UI design experience with a portfolio of professional work.
- Current TS/SCI Clearance with CI Polygraph.
- Proficiency with industry‑standard design and prototyping tools like Figma, Sketch, InVision, or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Familiarity with front‑end development principles (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Next.js) is a plus.
- Familiarity with workflow design and development principles (React Flow, JointJS, Apache Airflow, Prefect, Flowable) is a plus.
- Deep understanding of user behavior, human‑computer interaction, and user‑centered design methodologies.
- Experience with both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, ability to work effectively in a cross‑functional team.
- Mobile‑first and responsive design mindset.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Design).
Compensation range: $122,000–$253,000, commensurate with qualifications, experience, and expertise. Position is contingent upon contract award.
