Position Description
Seeking a Cyber R&D Engineer IV serving as a technical lead responsible for maintaining and advancing Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines while ensuring security, compliance, and observability across the software development lifecycle. This role bridges development, security, and operations, enabling secure and reliable delivery of mission-critical cyber R&D capabilities through automation and secure-by-design practices.
Minimum/General Experience- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience
- 8–10+ years of experience in Dev Sec Ops , software engineering, security engineering, or related roles
- Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in secure environments
- Experience working in classified or highly regulated environments
- Requires C/C++/Python and reverse engineering and penetration testing experience
- Maintain and operate CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and Git Lab CI/CD
- Integrate and manage security tools within the CI/CD pipeline, including static analysis, dynamic analysis, and vulnerability scanning
- Implement and maintain automated testing frameworks, including unit, integration, and user acceptance testing
- Collaborate with development teams to identify, prioritize, and remediate security vulnerabilities
- Ensure continuous compliance with applicable security regulations, standards, and organizational policies
- Monitor pipeline performance, system availability, and security posture to ensure observability and reliability
- Establish Dev Sec Ops standards, best practices, and documentation
- Mentor engineers on secure development and automation practices
- Operate and integrate software into cloud environments such as AWS and Kubernetes
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD automation and Dev Sec Ops tooling
- Experience integrating security controls into the software development lifecycle
- Familiarity with secure coding practices, vulnerability management, and compliance enforcement
- Ability to lead technical efforts and coordinate across development and security teams
- DoD Manual 8140.03 (DoDM 8140.03) baseline certification required for the assigned role category
- Active TOP SECRET/SCI clearance with Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph required
- Onsite-only position requiring daily work in a secure facility
Location: Ft. Meade, MD
Salary: $200,000 - $240,000
