Overview
Lockheed Martin's Cyber & Intelligence team is seeking a Dev Ops Engineer to support satellite communication systems, focusing on C++/Python Dev Ops pipelines, Kubernetes, GPU, and automated testing.
Responsibilities- Design, implement, and maintain Dev Ops pipelines for C++ or Python applications.
- Utilize Kubernetes/K8s deployments, Helm chart creation, and pod definition.
- Manage and configure Kubernetes clusters for high availability, scalability, and security.
- Identify, debug, and correct defects in existing software.
- Configure and optimize GPU resources for performance-critical applications, utilizing CUDA or other related technologies.
- Implement automated testing and deployment scripts using Jenkins or Git Lab CI/CD.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (system architects, project managers) to ensure user requirements are met.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for software designs, processes, and interfaces.
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience/education with 20+ years of professional experience (expert level).
- Possess all capabilities defined by the GG Statement of work Appendix B for the USG standard SWE labor category level 3.
- Must possess the requisite security clearance and polygraph clearance (TS/SCI with Poly SP).
- Expert authority in discipline.
- Kubernetes cluster design, deployment, lifecycle management, Rancher, RKE2 implementation, control‑plane configuration, worker‑node management, scheduling, affinity, resources, scaling, high‑availability.
- Cluster monitoring, networking, storage, storage classes, PVC, PC, external storage integration.
- Security concepts: RBAC, service accounts, secrets, certificate management, policy engines.
- Helm familiarity.
- CKA certification (plus).
- Application development/deployment principles (CNCF projects & tools).
- Dev Ops principles:
Git Ops, builds, pipelines. - Networking: switching, routing, VLANs.
- Advanced Linux (RHEL / Rocky / EL9): OS configuration, service management, hardening, PXE, automated OS deployment.
- Ansible: playbook design, role development.
- Development & scripting:
Python, Bash, Go (desired), YAML, JSON manipulation, Git workflows. - Software testing: unit testing knowledge.
- Collaboration & communication: cross‑functional collaboration, stakeholder communication, presenting technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
- Domain knowledge: RF data‑processing familiarity, RF application development familiarity.
TS/SCI with Polygraph (SP).
Salary & BenefitsAnnual base salary range: $150,800 - $265,880 (varies by state). Incentive plan eligible.
