Position: IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (ENTARCH/INFOSEC)

Summary

Recruitment under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service. This position does not convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It supports the mission of the U.S. Cyber Command. The role is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure and is located in the DISA ACQ/SERVICES PEO.

Responsibilities
  • Develops, interprets, plans and applies policy, process, procedure and strategy in the delivery of multi-discipline IT services required to achieve user end point and system integration/interoperability for enterprise systems and applications.
  • Develops end‑user architecture projects and performs analysis of broad areas of projected work processes, operational practices and requirements.
  • Prepares and presents cogent and cohesive analysis and briefings advising DISA management on new technological developments, techniques and enhancements that result in increased time and cost efficiencies.
  • Serves as a technical expert in the area of End Point Architecture, system design, particularly in the design of the end‑user environment, and operational Management Information Systems (MIS).
Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Males born after 12‑31‑59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
  • Requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance; this position is subject to obtaining a Secret/Non‑Critical Sensitive security clearance. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
  • In accordance with DoD 8140 policy series, the position requires completion of Foundational Qualifications in 9 months and Residential Qualification in 12 months.
Qualifications Basic Requirements
  • Experience reviewing own information technology‑related work or data and having reviewed the work of others to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards.
  • Customer Service:
    Developing and maintaining relationships with customers, anticipating and assessing current and future IT needs, and tailoring IT products or services to meet those needs.
  • Oral Communication:
    Briefing senior‑level management and IT staff on the status of IT systems, projects, or daily operations including communication of complex technical information to non‑technical audiences.
  • Problem Solving:
    Identifying alternatives to address unique, highly complex, or sensitive IT‑related issues; anticipating challenges and evaluating sources of information to generate alternative solutions.
Qualifying Experience
  • At least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success at GG‑13, including paid or unpaid experience, volunteer work, or military service.
  • Experience develops plans for major end‑point, user‑environment projects and advises high‑level IT and functional management on new developments and advanced techniques; OR prepares system design diagrams, develops system specifications, and supporting documentation; OR demonstrates skill in endpoint systems management, user‑environment architecture, and design.
Education

No substitution of education for the qualifying experience at the GG‑13 grade level. To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university.

Foreign Education

If foreign education is used, credentials must be evaluated by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services at the time of application.
