We have a career opportunity for a Sr. Service Now Developer supporting the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). This role includes support for the Operations, Sustainment, Maintenance, Repair, and Defense of the Defense Information System Network (DISN) within the DOD Information Network (DODIN), as well as support for DISA's operational transformation through innovation and mission partner support.
Candidates must hold an active DoD Secret clearance and an active Security+ certification (or equivalent DOD 8570 IAT Level II or higher) prior to starting.
Candidates must be able to work on-site daily at one of the following locations:
Fort Meade, MD, Scott AFB (Belleville, IL), or Hill AFB (Ogden, UT).
As Sr. Service Now Developer, you will perform configuration, development, support, and maintenance of the Service Now implementation. You will work with external and internal stakeholders to understand, propose, and deliver digital transformation solutions with emphasis on request fulfillment, automated workflows through Service Now Service Catalogs, and key ITIL processes including Request, Incident, Problem, Change, Knowledge, and other modules.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support the standup, configuration, and implementation of Service Now's ITSM, OMT, TSM, and TSOM modules
- Create and maintain Forms, Reports, Views, Workflows, Groups, and Roles
- Create, maintain, and enhance Dashboards and reporting, including scheduled reports
- Create and configure tool integrations with Service Now (Elastic, Netcool, Kafka, etc.)
- Coordinate and support application and platform upgrades
- Assist with design, creation, and cataloging of business process flows
- Work with other members of the Service Now development team to propose solutions based on business needs and strategies
- Design and configure Service Now functions to meet operational needs
- Support business process re-engineering activities to move ticketing and order management capabilities into Service Now
- Identify trends and find patterns in unstructured and semi-structured customer data to improve customer experience and network performance
- Interact with customers to address systems engineering technical considerations and associated problems, issues, or conflicts
- Develop, configure, and customize the Service Now platform to fit business requirements
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems
- Orchestrate and automate tasks
- Design and build Service Now applications and integrations to other applications and platforms, including architecture, languages, best practices, and methodologies in an Agile Scrum environment
- Collaborate on ongoing projects across new development and enhancements with engineers, developers, analysts, and other team members
- Follow, maintain, and apply documentation best practice policies, procedures, and processes throughout Service Now development
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather input supporting ongoing business needs for Service Now configuration, implementation, and support
- Review and apply UI/UX requirements from internal and external teams and align them into Service Now development
- Utilize available programming methodologies and languages while adhering to coding standards, procedures, and techniques, and contributing to technical code documentation
- Support data migration as needed
- Design and implement solutions following established Configuration Management policies and standards
- Integrate data from multiple sources into a unified CMDB, ensuring data quality and integrity

- Must be local to and able to commute daily to one of the following locations:
Fort Meade, MD | Belleville, IL (Scott AFB) | Ogden, UT (Hill AFB) - Bachelor's degree with 8-12 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 6-10 years of prior relevant experience; additional years of work experience in lieu of degree is acceptable
- At least 6 years of experience with the design, development, and support of technology infrastructure
- At least 4 years of Service Now development experience
- Experience with Service Now upgrades
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to work independently, prioritize, and complete multiple tasks
- Ability to multi-task and self-assign work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills enabling proactive and effective collaboration with a virtual team, including the ability to clearly articulate status and present to both customers and program leadership
- Demonstrated willingness to learn and adapt to rapid changes in technology
- Willingness to assist and train junior developers
- High level of professionalism - this role is performed on an active military installation
