CACI is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator II to perform system administration functions in support of a critical mission based in Fort Meade, MD. This role provides the opportunity to support enterprise infrastructure, enhance system reliability, and contribute to secure, mission‑focused operations. Responsibilities- Perform day‑to‑day Linux system administration tasks across enterprise environments.
- Deploy, configure, secure, and maintain Linux servers and associated services.
- Monitor, patch, and upgrade Linux servers and network‑connected resources (routers, switches, firewalls).
- Maintain and upgrade virtualized environments, including VMs and underlying hardware resources.
- Implement and support security compliance controls and document non‑applicable items as required.
- Assist with installation, configuration, and integration of new or replacement Linux‑based hardware and software.
- Integrate hardware/software solutions into existing network infrastructure.
- Support the decommissioning and removal of outdated or replaced systems.
- Maintain accurate documentation of system inventory changes and configuration updates.
Required:
- Proficient with Linux, including hands‑on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
- Minimum of three (3) years of recent Linux system administration experience (within the last 3 years).
- Experience patching and upgrading Linux servers and networking resources.
- Virtualization/VM experience.
- COMPTIA Security+ certification.
- Ten (10) years experience as a Systems Administrator in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
- Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
- Dell and HPE Linux servers;
Juniper and Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls;
Palo Alto firewalls;
Ansible;
Nutanix – VM management;
Rubrik – data storage;
Nomad containers; SALT scripts;
LibreNMS;
Net Box. - CSP (Cloud Service Provider) – AWS and/or Azure.

The Proposed Salary Range For This Position Is
$103,800 - $218,100
