Sr. System Administrator

Bering-Alaka`ina Holdings, LLC has a potential need for a Sr. System Administrator to provide support for our government customer in Laurel, MD de.

*** POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD.**
* DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for high-level, day-to-day operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for complex operating systems, workstations and servers.
• Coordinates, directs and performs complex software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.
• Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
• Continually monitors and tunes multiple systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
• Ensures workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions of varying complexities.
• Ensures data/media recoverability by developing and implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
• Plans and implements for the modernization of servers.
• Develops, implements and promotes standard operating procedures and schedules.
• Conducts hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or another related field.
• May be required to meet additional DCWF 8140/8570 certification requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Must have a minimum of eight (8) years of Systems Administration experience in a secure DoD environment.
• Experience with complex software installations and upgrades.
• Experience working with workstations and servers.
• Experience in providing system administrative recommendations for upgrades, resolutions and implementation as needed.

REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:

• United States Citizenship required. ( not acceptable)
• Must have an active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
