About the Role The Configuration Manager III is responsible for managing configuration management across both developmental and operational systems throughout their full lifecycle. You will work alongside development and operations teams to establish and maintain configuration baselines, enforce CM discipline, and drive continuous improvement of CM policies and procedures. This role spans the entire system lifecycle — from initial requirements baselines through end-of-life.
Responsibilities Create and maintain configuration baselines (development, test, production) for developmental and operational systems
Develop, modify, and tailor CM plans, policies, and procedures to match the complexity and scope of assigned systems
Evaluate, recommend, and implement automated CM tools to enforce consistent CM practices
Implement CM discipline across the full system lifecycle, from initial requirements and capabilities baselines through end-of-life Perform change control processes, including impact assessments and approval coordination
Conduct configuration audits to ensure compliance with established baselines and CM policies
Collaborate with developmental and operational teams to integrate CM processes into program workflows
Required Qualifications 8+ years of configuration management experience on programs of similar scope and complexity
Experience developing or tailoring CM plans, policies, and procedures
Hands-on experience with automated CM tools
Experience performing change control and configuration audits
Experience managing configuration baselines across multiple environment types (development, test, production)
Desired Qualifications Experience using a source code control system (e.g., Git, SVN, Clear Case) on a developmental program
Familiarity with CM standards such as EIA-649 or MIL-HDBK-61
Experience supporting both developmental and operational system environments concurrently
