Personnel Security Specialist

Position: Personnel Security Specialist
Reports To: The Customer and Project Manager
Clearance Type: Active TS/SCI with CI Poly
Work Location: Ft. Meade, Maryland

Advantage SCI is seeking a Personnel Security Specialist to support the Personnel Security Division in assessing, validating, and certifying the trustworthiness of DIA and designated DoD-affiliated personnel for clearance access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) through case management and adjudication, including due process in an accurate and timely manner. The role also requires experience supporting the Continuous Evaluation System (CES) as CES Screeners.

• 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience applying ICD
  704 and EO 12968, and SEAD 3, 6, and 7, which address reporting requirements, continuous vetting/evaluation, and reciprocity.
• Knowledge of and ability to meet DNI and IRPTA timelines, prioritizing competing tasks while maintaining accuracy and timeliness.
• Familiarity with and experience using Scattered Castles, eQIP, JPAS, JVS, DCII, CVS, DPRIS, OPM Portal; initiating and scoping T5R background investigations; performing National Agency Checks and Credit Checks; determining when a security case is complete and prepared for adjudication, coordinating with other officers, and determining the need for additional investigative information.
• Judgment and experience in conducting and/or collecting national agency checks for adjudicative review, including investigations, incident reports, continuous evaluation, continuous vetting, and T5R background investigations.
• Strong writing skills, including crafting analyses of collected data.
• Experience understanding exception codes, such as waivers, conditions, and deviations.
• Understanding of the difference between suitability determinations and security clearance determinations.
• Experience creating, managing, and closing cases in appropriate security systems of record.
• Excellent written and oral reporting skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate at all levels of the organization and with customers across geographically dispersed sites.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Experience working in DIA is a plus.
• Must possess a valid certification of completion in PII and Cyber Awareness Challenge from the Information Assurance Support Environment (valid only within 30 days of hire). To obtain the certification, visit (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below)..

• Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods.
• Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach daily.
• Able to lift up to 35 pounds occasionally.
