Position: SUPV IT SPECIALIST (CUSTSPT)

Summary

This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It is identified as necessary to support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is a Supervision/Management Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure and located in the DISA – FE/Global Service Desk Division.

Duties
  • Serve as a Section Chief directing and supervising highly skilled customer support employees.
  • Manage staff and operations required to plan, deliver, troubleshoot, assist, and train based on customer needs.
  • Plan, direct, review, and coordinate work operations, including critical mission functions of the organization.
  • Stay abreast of state‑of‑the‑art technology through journals, seminars, and vendor contacts.
  • Serve as a technical information source within and outside the command.
Conditions of Employment
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Males born after 12‑31‑59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
  • Requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance; failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
  • Must complete Foundational Qualifications within 9 months and Residential Qualification requirements within 12 months per DoD 8140 policy.
  • Travel may be required per the Joint Travel Regulations.
  • Position is "Mission Essential"; incumbent may be required to report to work or relocate within the U.S. during emergencies.
Qualifications

To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements.

Qualifying Experience

At least one year of experience demonstrating the competencies necessary for immediate success at the GG‑13 grade level.

  • Experience leading teams; managing projects to plan, troubleshoot, and secure networks in cyber operations.
  • Experience delivering briefings to executive leadership.
Education

There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experience at the GG‑13 grade level.
