Audio Visual Installation Technician; Secret

Company Overview

American Communications Solutions is hiring an Audio-Visual Installation Technician to join our team in supporting the Department of Defense. The AV installation Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and service of professional audio, video, control systems, professional lighting, and electronic equipment.

This position requires the ability to travel to CONUS locations.

• Install, assemble, and repair AV systems according to system documentation and industry standards and best practices.
• Maintain updated as-built documentation of system installations.
• Read and understand project drawings and schematics, engineering notes, and operation manuals.
• Experience with the installation of AV systems and equipment including flat panel displays, control systems, and AV signal routing and processing equipment.
• Familiarity with multimedia (VTC, video walls, Crestron), telecommunication transport, secure and non-secure voice communications.
• Fabricate, cable, and test equipment racks and cabinets.
• Demonstrate effective communication skills using tact and courtesy, and ability to handle pressure-sensitive situations.
• Properly and safely use/operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic test equipment.
• Perform installations and break/fix actions while on ladders or crawl spaces of various heights and depths.
• Work with and without direct supervision.
• Possess good interpersonal and time management skills.
• Detail-oriented with ability to multi-task and handle deadlines and tight timelines.
• Troubleshoot a variety of audiovisual systems for high visibility and mission critical systems.
• Travel to customer sites.

• Minimum 1-2 years installing audiovisual equipment including video panels, speakers, racking, microphones, A/V cabling and wiring.
• Ability to lift/carry equipment and tools in excess of 100 lbs.

• Current or working toward IA Security certifications such as Security+, CISSP, etc.
• Possess or in process of obtaining A/V industry related certifications such as Avixa, Crestron, Extron, or Biamp certifications.

• Possess or ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
• Willing to travel up to 50% of the time.
