Job Summary

On‑site Home Visitor, LCSW/LMFT or RN/BSN – provides comprehensive, family‑centered support to eligible military families with expectant and young parents (birth to 3years). The role fosters mission readiness by helping families adapt to military life, strengthening healthy relationships, and preventing family violence.

• Deliver parenting programs, respite care, and supervised play for children.
• Assess families at risk for child maltreatment or family violence and provide timely, confidential services.
• Protect client privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Identify and report suspected child abuse, neglect, and domestic abuse.
• Evaluate developmental milestones and coordinate referrals for special or delayed needs.
• Strengthen parents’ adaptation to parenthood, problem‑solving skills, and capacity to seek help.
• Teach developmentally appropriate parenting, discipline techniques, and parent‑child communication.
• Facilitate formal and informal community networks to reduce isolation.
• Build relationships with local community and military installation officials and partner organizations.
• Utilize community‑based services and networks to offer concrete support during crises.
• Conduct screening, assessment, and interventions using a strengths‑based, family‑centered developmental approach.
• Maintain accurate case status in the tracking system.
• Participate in monthly conference calls and annual training events.
• Perform additional duties as assigned that align with the position’s intent.

• Minimum of 2 years direct experience in child abuse/domestic abuse, maternal/child health, or medical social work.
• Active license required: LCSW, LMFT, or RN.
• LCSW: current unrestricted clinical license and master’s degree in Social Work.
• RN:
  Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, current unrestricted state/license, and minimum 2 years experience with child or domestic abuse, maternal/child health, community or mental health. Home visitation experience is required.
• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
• Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; ability to use general office equipment.
• Ability to travel as required and comply with AFSC travel policies.
• Capability to access and enter private homes with varying degrees of accessibility.
• Strong time‑management skills to meet deadlines under pressure.
