Software Engineer III

Kavaliro is seeking a Software Engineer III to support a client in Fort Meade, MD.

We are seeking a Software Engineer with strong experience developing and supporting cloud-native, microservices-based applications in a mission environment. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Java and Spring, containerized deployments, Kubernetes orchestration, and system monitoring, and can operate effectively within an Agile, multidisciplinary team.

• Develop and maintain microservices using Java and Spring frameworks
• Build, deploy, and manage containerized applications using Docker and container
• Support container orchestration using Kubernetes
• Monitor system health and performance using Grafana and Prometheus
• Use Git for source control and collaborative development
• Participate in Agile development processes, including planning, standups, and retrospectives
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions

• Experience using the Linux command line interface
• Experience developing microservices using Java and Spring
• Hands-on experience with Docker and container
• Experience with Kubernetes container orchestration
• Experience with system monitoring tools such as Grafana and Prometheus
• Experience using Git for version control

• Experience with CI/CD tools and practices, including Git Lab CI and ArgoCD
• Experience with Open Search or Elasticsearch for data indexing and retrieval
• Experience with Apache NiFi for dataflow management and ingestion
• Experience with the Amazon HCI platform
• Strong debugging, documentation, and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in an Agile, multidisciplinary team environment

• This position is onsite and there is no remote availability.
