Senior Back End Developer

Overview

Veteran‑owned management consulting firm HRUCKUS is seeking a Senior Back‑End Developer for an onsite assignment in Fort Meade, MD.

The ideal candidate is a Fort Meade resident with an active TS/SCI clearance, 10+ years of software development experience, and back‑end web design expertise, preferably with experience integrating data into machine learning or AI capabilities.

HRUCKUS is looking for an experienced Senior Back‑End Developer to perform engineering tasks for back‑end design and development efforts, supporting current and new system capabilities and integrations for mission‑critical programs.

• Provide subject matter proficiency for work described in the task.
• Apply analytical skills to support process improvement, specialized studies, and requirements definition.
• Perform analysis, planning, develop requirements documents, build functional models, develop procedures, and perform other related management and technical duties.
• Develop back‑end architectures to support current and new system capabilities, including RESTful API development and modification, database management, and data model development and optimization.
• Prepare, conduct, and document system tests and results to verify operability and compliance with project standards and requirements.

• Active TS/SCI clearance is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (a Master’s may substitute for 2 years of experience).
• 10+ years of software development experience in object‑oriented and scripted languages with tools related to Dev Sec Ops , microservices, and containers.
• 10+ years of experience in relational databases, RESTful API development, and integration.
• 5+ years performing back‑end web design and development.
• 5+ years with Python and Postgre
  
  SQL.
• 5+ years using bug‑tracking software such as Jira.
• 5+ years testing web‑based applications.
• 5+ years leading software development programs or projects.
• 3+ years with AWS infrastructure, Kubernetes, and Red Hat Linux.
• 5+ years with at least five of the following:
  • Postgres, RDS, Exodus, Python, Luna, Java, Docker, OpenJDK, Ansible, Packer, Maven, Kubernetes, Red Hat
• Practical experience developing in a cloud environment.
• Must be able to report on‑site in Fort Meade, MD up to five days per week based on customer requirements.

• Experience integrating data from unclassified to classified application deployments.
• 5+ years of experience with DoW software development.
• Experience using Agile Test‑Driven development.
• Experience integrating into DoW Dev Sec Ops  environments.
• 5+ years with CI/CD software development.
• Demonstrated experience using UX design tool suites such as Sketch or InVision.
• Experience structuring data for integration into machine learning technologies or AI capabilities.
