Position: CNO Software Engineer (SWE) Level 2 with Security Clearance
SALARY REQUIREMENTS Candidates are invited to submit their salary expectations along with their application. The compensation for this role will be competitive and is aligned with industry standards, taking into consideration factors such as experience, education, and geographic location. The base salary range for this position is $127,000 to $206,000 (USD), exclusive of any discretionary bonuses and benefits.

JOB DESCRIPTION Mission Edge Technologies is seeking a software engineer to design, develop, and enhance complex software systems that power mission critical solutions. In this role, you will work on processing intensive analytics, innovative algorithms, large-scale data systems, real-time applications, and business management platforms. You will collaborate with a dynamic team (or work independently) to translate documented requirements into high-performing software solutions.

Responsibilities include reviewing and testing code for design compliance, documenting results, resolving software issues, and applying modern development methodologies tailored to the environment. You will contribute to system-level design decisions, evaluating hardware/software tradeoffs, recommending COTS/GOTS solutions when appropriate, promoting software reuse, and transforming system requirements into effective software components.

Essential Job Functions:

* Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.

* Debug existing software and correct defects.

* Provide recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards.

* Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features.

* Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments.

* Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories.

* Write or review software and system documentation.

* Serve as team lead at the level appropriate to the software development process being used on any particular project.

* Design or implement complex database or data repository interfaces/queries.

* Develop or implement algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards.

* Assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components.

* Develop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, confer with users or system engineers; analyze systems flow, data usage and work processes; and investigate problem areas.

* Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance.

* Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.

* Design or implement complex algorithms requiring adherence to strict timing, system resource, or interface constraints;
Perform quality control on team products.

* Implement recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards.

* Oversee one or more software development teams and ensure the work is completed in accordance with the constraints of the software development process being used on any particular project.

* Confer with system engineers and hardware engineers to derive software requirements and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.

* Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure operational specifications are met.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

* Due to the nature of this position and the information that employees will be required to access; U.S. Citizenship is required.

* Required Security Clearance:
Active TS with Polygraph

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required with an additional 14 years of SWE experience. Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

* 6 Years experience in development for Windows or UNIX applications using scripting languages (e.g., C, C++, C#, Java, and Python).

* 6 Years - Dev Ops - Build and deploy technologies (e.g., Artifactory, Docker, Terraform, Ansible, Packer).

* 6 Years experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD). Tools (e.g., Jenkins and Bamboo) and building automated CI/CD pipelines.

* Windows and Linux/UNIX development environments.

* Large-scale data handling and performance optimization.

* Software architecture, testing, and Dev Ops experience.

* Front End development and Elasticsearch experience are a plus.

Working Conditions:

Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are normally set from Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, however some extended or weekend hours may be required.
