Software Engineer Level 1 Security Clearance

Position: Software Engineer Level 1 with Security Clearance
Markon is seeking a Software Engineer to support the Fort Meade customer by designing, developing, and maintaining secure backend services and cloud-native applications that support mission-critical operations. This role develops scalable microservices, RESTful APIs, and AWS-based solutions while applying Dev Sec Ops  best practices to automate software delivery and infrastructure management. Working within a collaborative Agile environment, the role partners with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performing enterprise applications.

Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and maintain microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and modern software engineering practices.

* Develop and support RESTful APIs and backend services deployed within AWS cloud environments, including Amazon ECS, AWS Lambda, Amazon RDS, and Amazon S3.

* Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate software build, testing, deployment, and release activities.

* Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, AWS Cloud Formation, or comparable automation tools.

* Optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, and security across cloud-native environments.

* Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues using enterprise monitoring and observability tools such as Amazon Cloud Watch, Prometheus, or the ELK Stack.

* Develop unit and integration tests to ensure software quality, reliability, and maintainability.

* Collaborate with Dev Ops engineers, front-end developers, product teams, and Government stakeholders to deliver end-to-end software solutions.

* Develop and maintain technical documentation supporting application architecture, deployment processes, and operational procedures. Qualifications

Required Qualifications
* Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph with this Customer.
* Bachelor's degree and 7 years of software engineering experience.

* Experience developing backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.

* Experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.

* Experience deploying and supporting applications within AWS cloud environments, including ECS, Lambda, RDS, and S3.

* Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops practices.

* Experience developing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, AWS Cloud Formation, or comparable tools.

* Experience monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing production systems.

* Experience developing unit and integration tests.

* Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
Desired Qualifications
* Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

* Experience with additional AWS services supporting cloud-native application development.

* Experience working in Agile software development environments using Git, Jira, and Confluence.

* Experience supporting Intelligence Community or DoD mission applications. Salary Range USD $ - USD $ /Yr.
