Backend Developer, DevOps
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Back-End Software Developer to support mission-critical operations for the United States Air Force in Ft. Meade.
Key Responsibilities- Provide subject matter expertise in support of Air Force software development tasks.
- Analyze, plan, and develop requirements documents and functional architectures.
- Design and implement back-end architectures to support new and existing system capabilities.
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and manage relational databases.
- Optimize data models and support integration of data across classification levels.
- Conduct and document system tests to ensure compliance with project standards.
- Collaborate in Agile development environments and contribute to CI/CD pipelines.
- Support Dev Sec Ops practices and integrate with DoD-compliant tool chains.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in software development and engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Master’s may substitute for 2 years of experience).
- Active secret or interim clearance
- Proficiency in object-oriented and scripted languages.
- Experience with Dev Sec Ops , microservices, and containerization.
- Bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira)
- Testing web-based applications
- Back-end web design and development
- Jenkins and Git Lab
- At least five of the following tools: NPM, Cypress.io, esbuild, Bun, Apache Tomcat, Maven, Sonar Qube
- Relational databases and RESTful API development
- AWS Infrastructure, Kubernetes, and Red Hat Linux
- Cloud-based development and secure data integration
- TS clearance is preferred
- Experience with Agile Test-Driven Development (TDD)
- Familiarity with DoD Dev Sec Ops environments
- 5+ years of experience with CI/CD software development
- Dev Sec Ops experience with at least five of the following tools:
Git Lab, Jenkins, Sonar Qube, Fortify, JUnit5, Ansible, esbuild
The anticipated salary range for this position is $115,000 to $125,000, with the final offer determined based on factors such as the candidate's experience, education, skills, certifications, and overall qualifications.
