Position Overview We are seeking a talented and driven Cloud Software Engineer III to support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of complex, mission-focused software systems. This role will contribute to applications involving high-performance analytics, advanced algorithm development, large-scale data processing, real-time computing, and enterprise business solutions. The ideal candidate brings strong software engineering experience, a background in cloud and distributed computing technologies, and the ability to develop scalable solutions for large operational data environments.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide cloud software research, development, and engineering support across requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, sustainment, testing, validation, and issue resolution.
* Design, implement, and test new capabilities for Apache Accumulo to support large-scale content and metadata repositories.
* Conduct Apache Accumulo training sessions, including hands-on configuration and programming exercises.
* Develop web-based user interfaces for searching and presenting operational data.
* Develop web services and REST-based APIs for content and metadata repositories.
* Design and implement algorithms that operate on large volumes of operational metadata.
* Apply advanced parallel programming techniques to analytics running against petabyte-scale datasets.
* Develop, test, and prepare mission-relevant analytics for deployment in secure content and metadata repositories.

Required Qualifications
* Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.
* Ability and willingness to work onsite five days per week.
* Within the last 10 years, at least 7 years of combined programming experience using Java, C++, or Python.
* Within the last 7 years, at least 5 years of experience designing and developing applications in Windows or UNIX/Linux environments.
* Within the last 3 years, at least 1 year of experience with database technologies such as:
* Apache Accumulo
* MongoDB
* ScyllaDB
* Google Cloud Bigtable
* Amazon DynamoDB
* Azure Cosmos DB
* PostgreSQL
* or equivalent technologies
* Within the last 3 years, at least 1 year of experience with distributed batch or stream processing technologies such as:
* Ray
* Apache Spark
* Apache Flink
* Apache Beam
* Databricks
* cloud-native data processing services
* Within the last 3 years, at least 1 year of experience with distributed file or object storage systems such as:
* HDFS
* Amazon S3
* Azure Data Lake Storage
* Google Cloud Storage
* Within the last 3 years, at least 1 year of experience with requirements analysis and design for object-oriented systems.
* Within the last 2 years, at least 6 months of development experience using Kubernetes, AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. Education
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline. Education substitutions may include:
* Associate's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline plus 2 years of programming experience, or
* 5 years of programming experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree. Desired Skills
