Accounting Clerk (Onsite | Entry-Level)

Full-Time | Monday-Friday, 8:00-4:30 PM | Onsite

A well‑established, family‑oriented organization is seeking an Accounting Clerk to join a small, collaborative accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with foundational accounting knowledge who wants hands‑on experience, mentorship, and long‑term career growth.

What You'll Do

Financial & Reconciliation Support

+ Assist with daily accounting activities across multiple entities

+ Process accounts payable for assigned companies

+ Maintain and update expense tracking reports

+ Prepare and post journal entries (including freight, credit card activity, and intercompany balances)

+ Review bank activity for wires, ACH payments, and chargebacks

+ Reconcile assigned accounts and maintain supporting documentation

+ Prepare and distribute customer statements and internal financial materials

+ Track, reconcile, and accrue for specific recurring items

+ Assist with sales tax data preparation and uploads

+ Maintain credit card logs, customer check logs, and AP check logs

+ Support year‑end tax book preparation for select entities

+ Ensure all documents and reports are posted and filed accurately

Administrative Responsibilities

+ Serve as the point person for office equipment and basic operational needs

+ Coordinate a rotating bank-run schedule

+ Manage registered mailings and maintain related logs

+ Maintain the record retention database

+ Order office supplies for the department

Work Environment

+ Onsite, Monday-Friday (8:00-4:30)

+ Small, three‑person accounting team with strong mentorship available

+ Supportive, friendly, family‑like culture

+ Legacy accounting systems currently in place (FACTS and Peachtree) with modernization planned in the next two years

+ Reports directly to the CFO

Compensation & Benefits

+ $50,000-$55,000, depending on experience

Requirements

Who You Are

+ Some accounting experience required (degree not required)

+ Strong understanding of basic debits and credits

+ Comfortable learning legacy accounting systems; exposure to ERP or accounting software is a plus

+ Highly detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills

+ Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

+ Confident asking questions and seeking help as needed

+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

+ Team-oriented, dependable, and eager to learn
