Job Description Summary
Position Objective:
The Senior Sustainability Analyst is a highly collaborative, strategic role responsible for supporting Sunbelt Rentals' sustainability both internally and externally with a particular emphasis on customers
Position Responsibilities:
Develop customer sustainability content offerings throughout the journey stages of discovery, consideration, decision, retention, and advocacy. Equip and attract customers to Sunbelt Rentals by clearly communicating the value proposition of low-to-zero emission equipment and cleaner power solutions (biofuels, hybrids, BESS, electrification, etc.).
Handle and respond to customer, NGO, and government sustainability related requests (including claims, sustainability questionnaires, surveys, etc.), maintain a structured database of FAQs, standard responses, and supporting materials.
Assist leadership with the development of sustainability and climate change / carbon reduction strategies throughout the value chain across product, customer, and supplier elements.
Lead cross functional sustainability initiatives and connect synergistic work across departments (including but not limited to Fleet, Power & HVAC, Sales, Procurement, Telematics, Marketing, and other teams.)
Work collaboratively with the Sustainability Data Manager, and across internal sustainability functions (Operations, Communities, People, Customer) to support enterprise-wide initiatives.
Contribute to development of customer-facing and internal reporting, dashboards, communications, marketing and training materials.
Knowledge of GHG protocol reporting frameworks to support customer and internal emissions reporting, including Scope 1-3 methodologies and jobsite level carbon calculations.
Advance understanding of Sunbelt Rentals' sustainability commitments and approach with internal and external audiences through training and education opportunities.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards related to sustainability.
Develop solutions to address needs, opportunities and challenges working independently at times and collaboratively at other times.
Develop, maintain, and apply effective information modeling which will inform business decisions and drive change.
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, Public Policy, Communications, or related field; or equivalent relevant experience.
Master's degree in a relevant program preferred.
3+ years of experience in sustainability or environmental data-focused roles.
2+ years of experience in a client or customer facing role preferred.
Strong modeling, analytical, and data management skills.
Experience with emissions reporting, carbon accounting methodologies, or jobsite level emissions modeling preferred.
Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Power
BI, and SQL experience preferred.Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify technical concepts.
Ability to manage urgent requests, work independently, and operate effectively in an unstructured or evolving environment.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functions and build strong working relationships.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to bend, squat, crouch and/or reach and lift up to 25 pounds or more, as required by the job. Some Sunbelt jobs may require driving for long periods of time, loading and unloading heavy equipment, performing work in extreme weather conditions including rain, wind, or excessive temperatures and/or night and weekend work. All duties must be performed according to Sunbelt's safety policies and guidelines.
