• Interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Produce accurate quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, and equipment.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and complete bid packages.
• Use estimating software and spreadsheets to assemble estimates.
• Communicate with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to clarify details.
• Assist with cost comparisons, proposal adjustments, and value engineering opportunities.
• Help ensure smooth project execution by coordinating estimating data with project management and field personnel.
• Assist with preparation and development of cost estimates for commercial landscape construction projects.
• Review and interpret plans, specifications, scopes of work, and bid documents.
• Perform material, equipment, and labor takeoffs for landscape elements (hardscape, softscape, irrigation, drainage, etc.).
• Input data and generate detailed proposals using spreadsheets and estimating software.
• Solicit and organize vendor and subcontractor pricing.
• Maintain bid calendars and tracking systems.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Construction Management, Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• Strong computer literacy and comfort with technology.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data organization).
• Experience with estimating software is a Plus…, plan review tools, and digital takeoff platforms (e.g., Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, Pro Est, Sage, LMN, or ability to learn).
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Preferred: internship or prior experience in construction or landscape estimating.
