Summary

In conjunction with the operations team, the Superintendent manages all project planning and proactively monitors and verifies project execution, including safety, schedule, cost, and quality. The Superintendent is also responsible for identifying and resolving conflict and assuring efficient internal and external communication.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Monitor productivity, efficiency, and profitability for all current projects, including the correct allocation of resources.
  • Acts as a resource by mentoring, training, and developing personnel in all aspects of their careers.
  • Works with the Project Manager to develop a construction plan, including schedule, equipment, and buyout.
  • Works with the Project Manager to ensure all required materials, equipment, and inspections support the project schedule.
  • Oversees total job site construction effort to ensure the project is constructed following design, budget, and schedule.
  • Supervises various subcontractors, foremen, and craftsmen to ensure projects are properly executed.
  • Locate materials, formwork, equipment, and tools on and offsite and direct others to utilize them to meet established production and quality goals.
  • Train and manage others to properly maintain all equipment, form boards, and tools so that they are in a safe and reliable working condition.
  • Properly lay out all work based on drawings and given survey points.
  • Responsible for all project safety, including fall protection, barricades, and other safety systems.
  • Works with the Project Manager to maintain as‑built drawings, incorporating all RFI's, supplemental drawings, and miscellaneous updates.
  • Managed field crews in leadership and utilized the time clock tool (Exak Time).
  • Perform detailed, concise, and professional daily reports using the Construction & Maintenance Logbook (Green Books).
  • Submit a 2‑week schedule look ahead to General Superintendent weekly.

Required Experience, Education, And Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or business management or ten years of experience in the concrete construction industry, along with five years in a leadership capacity.
  • Working knowledge of various construction disciplines and safety regulations and how to apply them.
  • Understanding of cost management processes, planning, and scheduling.
  • Practical written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and execute construction drawings and contract specifications. Resolving discrepancies as needed.
  • Proven experience in producing look‑ahead schedules and working with other construction documents as required by the project and leadership.
  • General problem‑solving/conflict‑resolution skills.
  • Understand basic project financial information (monthly cost projections, labor cost reports, etc.).
Preferred Education And Experience

10+ years of experience working in construction as a sub‑contractor / trade partner.
