Role Description This contract role is for a Piano and Vocal Instructor based on-site in Fort Mill, SC, providing primarily in-home lessons to students within the surrounding communities. The instructor will teach piano and voice to children and adults at varying skill levels, designing lesson plans that support technical development, musical expression, and confidence. Day-to-day tasks include preparing individualized curriculum, conducting one-on-one lessons, tracking student progress, and communicating with families about goals and scheduling.

The instructor will travel to students’ homes within the designated service area, maintain punctual and professional behavior, and support Creative Melodies’ standards for a positive, inclusive learning environment. The role also involves occasional participation in recitals or studio events and providing guidance on practice routines and performance readiness. Qualifications  Candidates should possess strong skills in Music Theory and Music Education, including the ability to explain foundational and advanced concepts clearly.  

Candidates should possess skills in Vocal Coaching, Vocal Instruction, and delivering structured Voice Lessons for diverse ages and abilities.  

Demonstrated proficiency in piano performance and pedagogy, with experience teaching beginner through intermediate or advanced students.  Prior teaching or tutoring experience in private lesson, studio, or school settings, with a student-centered and inclusive approach.  Ability to develop customized lesson plans, assess progress, and adapt instruction to different learning styles and goals.  Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to students’ homes within the Fort Mill and surrounding areas.  

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including professionalism when interacting with students and families.  Formal training in music (degree, certification, or equivalent experience) is strongly preferred.  Ability to pass any required background checks and adhere to Creative Melodies’ safety and conduct policies.
