• Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for patients of all ages utilizing radiopharmaceuticals.
• Applies principles of radiation protection.
• Exercises professional judgment in performance of service.
• Provides patient care to patients of all ages.
• Night and weekend call is required.
• Proficiency in PACS.
• Obtains patient data before procedure - DOB, age, and history.
• Usually explains procedure to be performed, facilitates patient’s cooperation and alleviates anxiety.
• Utilizes proper radiation safety with patient, self, and others.
• Always demonstrates working knowledge and proficiency with imaging equipment, including but not limited to computers (acquisition and processing), dose calibrator, PACS, and Syntrac system.
• Always measures dosage for each patient following correct procedures; observes established precautions against overexposure.
• Administers isotope dosage accurately following established departmental procedure; accurate records dosage administered.
• Performs related duties as required.

Education:

Graduate of an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program with an Associate degree or equivalent required.

• Must be registry eligible.
• Registry completed with nine (9) months of employment.
• American Heart Association BLS CPR certification required.
• SCRQSA certification required.

Experience:

Up to 1 year experience is required; 1 to 2 years preferred.

• ARRT and/or NMTCB registry preferred.
