Job Overview
LPL seeks an Investment Analytics & Data professional to lead the creation and maintenance of analytical tools for its Investment Research department. The role supports investment functions including asset allocation, portfolio management, security‑selection, and business management.
Responsibilities- Lead the vertical tech stack development by managing cross‑functional relationships, internal project management, and individual contributions.
- Build and maintain master investment data sets to enable scalable investment reporting and analytics.
- Develop visualization tools that integrate multiple vendor data sources and deliver personalized insights.
- Create pre‑trade analytics and order‑management solutions to improve turnaround time and scalability.
- Provide competitive‑intelligence insights that inform the firm’s long‑term strategic positioning.
- Prepare polished presentation materials for senior management on performance, risk, and asset‑flow trends.
- Support portfolio‑management committees with attribution, risk data, and insights.
- 5–8 years of work experience in a quantitative or analytical role in investment management.
- Bachelor’s degree in quantitative, finance/economics, or computer information systems.
- Programmatic experience with investment data using Python, SQL, and Excel.
- Professional experience with data‑analytics visualization tools such as Microsoft Power BI or Tableau.
- Strategic understanding of LPL’s role in the financial‑services industry.
- Experience articulating a product vision and roadmap across stakeholders.
- Experience with relational database management software (RDBMS) and APIs.
- Familiarity with market‑data analytics platforms (Bloomberg, Fact Set, Refinitiv, Lipper, Morningstar).
- Hands‑on development with Microsoft Power Apps or Microsoft Fabric unified data platform.
- Experience back‑testing quantitative investment models in equity, fixed‑income, alternative, or multi‑asset space.
