Principal Cloud Engineer

The Principal, Cloud Engineer leads development of cloud services and platform solutions needed to host business-critical applications. This is a hands-on, technical lead role in the I&O organization that will architect and develop cloud-native services to support overall cloud strategy and migration to AWS.

• Lead research / design / architecture / development of enterprise services on AWS Landing Zone (ALZ) utilizing IaC/IaaS/ PaaS solutions including EC2, S3, ECS, EKS, ELB, RDS, R53, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS
• Builds IaC solutions adhering to Dev Sec Ops  best practices utilizing tools such as Git, Cloud Formation, Ansible and Terraform
• Build scalable / resilient solutions and ensure proper instrumentation is in place for overall observability of platforms and services
• Code / Implement guardrails to enable self-service and frictionless delivery allowing teams to build and own end-to-end applications and services in the cloud
• Participate in Kanban delivery model to deliver sprint releases through stories/epics utilizing Jira to track all development work and track overall velocity
• Accountable for site reliability engineering (SRE) activities to build highly available and scalable solutions and ensure problem observability of platforms / services
• Serve as a subject matter expert to design, administer and support security of infrastructure and enterprise hosting platforms
• Build / Maintain strong partnerships with IT stakeholders including Delivery Engineering, Application Development, Architecture and Security

• 7+ years of designing / deploying infrastructure utilizing common AWS services (EC2, S3, ECS, EKS, ELB, RDS, EFS, EBS, Route
  53, API Gateway)
• Experience designing / automating VPC solutions across AWS networking services (Direct Connect, VPC Gateway, Private Link, VPC Peering, Transit Gateway)
• Experience designing / automating data management solutions across AWS storage services (EBS, EFS, S3, Glacier, Storage Gateway)
• Experience designing / automating enterprise services on platform (ECS, EKS, API Gateway, ELB, RDS, S3, Glue, PostgreSQL)
• Proven track record architecting / building serverless solutions in AWS LZ via CI/CD pipelines (Lambda, Code Pipeline)
• In depth understanding on AWS Well-Architected Framework, AWS Landing Zone and Dev Sec Ops
• Proven track record building end-to-end automation for core infrastructure services
• Extensive engineering skills and experience developing scalable platforms (IaC / PaaS)
• Experience with AWS Landing Zone and Account Vending Machine to support service catalog development

• Ability to convey technical solutions to the entire organization and experience working with senior leaders across the firm to leverage technology to drive positive business outcomes
• Possess a thorough understanding of modern work practices such as Dev Sec Ops , Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD), Agile project Delivery, Release Engineering
• Expert level experience using system management configuration tools (Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, CF/YAML/JSON) to deploy and manage infrastructure at scale
• In depth understanding on AWS Well-Architected Framework / AWS Landing Zone
• Extensive experience working in large technology ecosystems with emphasis on integrating multiple externally facing high scale, high volume, always-on mission-critical systems
• Ability to convey technical solutions to the entire organization and experience working with senior leaders across the firm to leverage technology to drive positive business outcomes
• Highly collaborative with experience in a hands-on technical leadership role
• Bachelor's/Advance degree and/or equivalent experience required

• AWS Solutions Architect (Preferred)
• AWS Dev Ops Engineer (Preferred)
• Ansible / Puppet / Terraform Certification (Preferred)
• Experience with open telemetry including Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, AWS Distro
