Position Summary:

The Pre-Weigh/Batching Operator is responsible for accurately measuring, weighing, and preparing raw ingredients in accordance with production formulas and schedules. This role ensures all ingredients are staged and ready for processing while maintaining strict adherence to food safety, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

Description of Duties:
  • Accurately weigh and measure raw ingredients according to batch sheets, formulas, and production orders
  • Prepare and stage ingredients for production lines in a timely manner
  • Verify ingredient identity, lot numbers, and expiration dates before use
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP, and food safety protocols at all times
  • Maintain proper documentation of weights, ingredient usage, and batch records
  • Operate scales, measuring equipment, and related batching tools
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, utensils, and equipment
  • Report discrepancies, shortages, or quality issues to the supervisor immediately
  • Assist with inventory control, including material handling and stock rotation (FIFO)
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and efficiency efforts
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and warehouse teams to meet production goals
  • All other duties as assigned
Essential

Skills and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous experience in food manufacturing, batching, or warehouse operations preferred
  • Experience working with formulas, recipes, or precise measurements is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Basic math skills (weights, measurements, conversions)
  • Ability to read and follow batch sheets, recipes, and SOPs
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Basic computer or data entry skills (preferred)

Work

Environment:

Food manufacturing facility with exposure to moving machinery, noise, and food ingredients. Must comply with hygiene and sanitation standards, including hairnets, gloves, and uniforms. May require shift work, including nights, weekends, and overtime.
