Position Summary: The Packer is responsible for accurately packaging finished food products in accordance with company specifications, quality standards, food safety requirements, and production schedules. This position plays a critical role in ensuring products are properly packaged, labeled, and prepared for shipment while maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Description of Duties:

  • Package finished food products according to established procedures and production requirements.
  • Inspect products for quality, correct labeling, packaging integrity, and appearance before packing.
  • Assemble cartons, boxes, trays, and other packaging materials as required.
  • Apply labels, date codes, lot numbers, and other required product information accurately.
  • Verify product counts, weights, and packaging specifications.
  • Remove defective or damaged products from the production line and notify supervisors of quality concerns.
  • Maintain compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety standards, and sanitation procedures.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
  • Assist with line changeovers, equipment setup, and cleaning activities as assigned.
  • Follow all company safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Meet productivity, quality, and attendance expectations.
  • Support inventory accuracy by recording production and packaging information as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements

Essential

Skills and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing, production, warehouse, or food processing experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic math skills for counting and verifying product quantities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Preferred Skills and Experience :
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or food production environments
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) or HACCP standards

Environment:

Food manufacturing facility with exposure to moving machinery, noise, and food ingredients. Must comply with hygiene and sanitation standards, including hairnets, gloves, and uniforms. May require shift work, including nights, weekends, and overtime.
