Job Description

Summary of Position

The Safety Supervisor is responsible for implementing and maintaining the facility's, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs to ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations and company standards. This position promotes a proactive safety culture by conducting inspections, training employees, investigating incidents, and working with all departments to reduce workplace hazards and injuries.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation and enforcement of facility safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections and audits of assembly, manufacturing, warehouse, maintenance, and office areas.
  • Identify hazards and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Conduct workplace investigations on injuries, near misses, property damage incidents, and events.
  • Lead root cause analysis and ensure corrective actions are completed and verified.
  • Conduct Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and risk assessments.
  • Coordinate emergency response activities including fire drills, evacuation exercises, and spill response.
  • Deliver new hire orientation and ongoing safety training.
  • Administer contractor safety and ensure compliance with site requirements.
  • Monitor compliance with:
    • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
    • Machine Guarding
    • PPE Requirements
    • Powered Industrial Trucks
    • Confined Space
    • Hot Work
    • Fall Protection
    • Hazard Communication
    • Respiratory Protection
  • Participate in safety committee meetings.
  • Support workers' compensation case management and return-to-work programs.
  • Perform industrial hygiene monitoring and ergonomic assessments as required.
  • Assist with regulatory inspections and audits.
  • Stop work when imminent danger conditions exist.

  • Ability to identify potential hazards and assess risks in various work environments, considering factors such as machinery, chemicals, ergonomics, and workplace layout.
  • Expertise in conducting thorough investigations into accidents, incidents, and near-misses.
  • Ability to analyze safety data, track trends, and use metrics to measure the effectiveness of safety programs and identify areas for improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of emergency response planning
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
