Position Summary

The Packaging Production Lead is responsible for overseeing daily 2 nd shift packaging operations in our Spice Production Facility, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement. This role leads frontline teams, optimizes line performance, and supports operational excellence initiatives.

Description of Duties
  • Promote a zero-incident safety culture and enforce all safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct daily safety checks, audits, and incident investigations.
  • Lead and coordinate packaging line operations to meet daily production targets.
  • Ensure proper staffing, scheduling, and shift handoffs.
  • Escalate and resolve operational issues in real time.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop operators and technicians.
  • Provide clear expectations and performance feedback.
  • Conduct daily huddles and shift meetings.
  • Support onboarding and training of new employees.
  • Ensure all packaged products meet quality and customer standards.
  • Enforce GMPs and SOP compliance.
  • Partner with QA to address defects, holds, and non-conformances.
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Identify and implement process improvements.
  • Reduce waste, downtime, and inefficiencies.
  • Ensure proper operation and care of packaging equipment.
  • Coordinate with maintenance for preventive and corrective work.
  • Track and report key production metrics.
  • Maintain accurate production and compliance records.
  • Communicate updates to leadership and cross-functional teams
Requirements Essential Skills and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Programs:
    Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Math and written skills required.
  • Ability to multitask on any type of project.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Associate/Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 3-5+ years of manufacturing or packaging experience.
  • 1+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of packaging processes and equipment
Reporting to Position

All 2 nd Shift Machine Operators, Packers, Packing Forklift Drivers, & Bulk Packers at our Spice Production facility
