Position SummaryThe Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant provides comprehensive, patient-centered care to individuals with urologic conditions in collaboration with urologists and the interdisciplinary care team. This role includes evaluating and managing patients in the clinic and/or hospital setting, performing urologic procedures within scope of practice, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, developing treatment plans, and educating patients and families. The APP supports continuity of care, surgical coordination, and quality initiatives while delivering care aligned with evidence-based standards and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities- Conduct patient assessments, evaluations, and follow-up care for urologic conditions
- Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic conditions in collaboration with physicians
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, labs, and imaging
- Develop and implement treatment plans, including prescribing medications
- Provide pre- and post-operative care and assist with urologic procedures within scope
- Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and care plans
- Document care accurately in the EMR and ensure continuity of care
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support quality, safety, and efficiency
- Current NP or PA licensure and board certification
- Graduate degree from an accredited NP or PA program
- DEA license and prescriptive authority (or eligibility)
- BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
- Strong assessment, communication, and EMR documentation skills
