Job SummaryThe Quality Technician is responsible for quality inspection and auditing of manufacturing operations, component and finished goods as well as quality records. The role assists in completing discrepancy corrective/preventative action and performs receiving, in-process, and final inspections ensuring compliance with quality metrics and standards.
Responsibilities- Conduct required process audits and update work instructions (SOPs) as needed.
- Record measurement data into database systems for capturing, analyzing, and providing timely, accurate reporting.
- Read and interpret blueprint drawings and be proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments.
- Inspect and examine material for quality compliance and process rejected product.
- Operate forklift, power pallet jack, or manual carts to unload, move or store materials.
- Work required overtime as needed.
- Work with leadership and quality to solve issues.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed.
- Ability to work in Excel, create spreadsheets, and manipulate data.
- Minimum of two years of related experience including a working knowledge of precision measuring instruments such as CMM, micrometers, height gauges, and calipers.
- Basic math skills with ability to perform calculations and knowledge of fractions, decimals, and square roots.
- Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis, problem-solving techniques, root cause analysis, and quality assurance practices with the ability to lead continuous improvement/kaizen events.
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
- Ability to compare actual measurements to specifications and determine if finished product is acceptable quality.
- Manually lift/slide/flip materials or boxes of material (max. 50-51 or higher with assistance).
- Walk, stand, bend, lift, twist, and maintain agility in a constant flow of materials.
- Face‑paced position with constant attention to detail required.
- Mildly controlled environment – can expect some cold and heat during extreme weather conditions.
