Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. As MHC continues to grow, we have an opening for a Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic. The role performs heavy‑du‑tory mechanical repair under general supervision, with on‑the‑job training in a development program to achieve Service Journeyman status.

• Performs and/or assists with general mechanical duties.
• Works independently on engine overhaul, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, cooling systems, chassis, brakes, engine tune‑up, and general maintenance.
• Works on major components under close supervision.
• Troubleshoots minor problems.
• Attends training sessions and meetings.
• Maintains a neat and orderly work area and handles company tools properly.
• Advises the Shop Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
• Follows safe work practices and procedures, uses safety equipment when required, and seeks assistance when necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

This position is designated as safety‑sensitive. Performing the position while under the influence of marijuana or any other illegal drug may constitute a threat to health or safety, or a lapse of attention that could lead to injury, illness, or death. The role involves operating, repairing, maintaining, or monitoring heavy equipment, machinery, or vehicles, as well as handling hazardous materials and/or waste.

• CDL preferred.
• Minimum three years hands‑on experience or graduation from vocational courses.
• A/C, Brake, and DOT Annual Inspector certifications required.
• Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.
