Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Kelly Services is hiring Mechanical Maintenance Technicians for a direct-hire opportunity with a growing manufacturer of inks, coatings, and specialty industrial products.

You'll support production equipment and facility systems used in the manufacturing of inks and coatings, including mixers, mills, pumps, motors, chillers, HVAC systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and related process equipment.

As a Maintenance Technician, you'll play an important role in keeping production equipment, facility systems, and manufacturing operations running safely and efficiently.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Troubleshooting and repairing industrial production equipment
• Performing preventive and predictive maintenance
• Supporting equipment used in ink and coatings manufacturing
• Maintaining and repairing three-roll mills, mixers, pumps, motors, chillers, and HVAC systems
• Diagnosing pneumatic and hydraulic system problems
• Troubleshooting plumbing and facility-related equipment
• Installing, modifying, and repairing machinery and equipment
• Reading equipment manuals, blueprints, schematics, and work orders
• Using meters, diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools
• Fabricating, modifying, or assembling mechanical components as needed
• Identifying equipment issues before they result in major downtime
• Documenting repairs and preventive maintenance activities
• Supporting GMP, Quality Management System, and plant safety requirements
• Participating in corrective actions and continuous improvement activities
• Traveling independently to nearby branch locations when additional maintenance support is needed

The Mechanical Maintenance Technician will focus heavily on the mechanical side of production and facility equipment.

We're especially interested in candidates with experience involving:

• Pumps and motors
• Bearings, shafts, couplings, and mechanical drives
• Mixers and industrial processing equipment
• Pneumatic systems
• Hydraulic systems
• Plumbing
• HVAC and chillers
• Equipment installation and alignment
• Mechanical troubleshooting
• Welding and fabrication

Strong welding and fabrication experience is highly desirable for the mechanical position.

You may be a great fit if you have:

• 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience
• 5+ years of experience strongly preferred
• Strong hands-on mechanical or electrical troubleshooting abilities
• Experience maintaining manufacturing or industrial equipment
• Ability to read manuals, schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and prioritize maintenance needs
• Valid driver's license with a safe driving record
• Comfort traveling approximately 15–30%
• Basic computer skills, including Windows and Microsoft Office
• Strong communication and organizational skills

An associate degree, technical school training, apprenticeship, or equivalent hands-on maintenance experience is preferred.

Experience with 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, GMP, or Quality Management Systems is also valuable.
